Military of Daehanjeiguk
The Armed Forces of Daehanjeiguk (ko.: 대한제국 국군; zh.: 大韓帝國國軍) are responsible for the defense of Daehanjeiguk. Among its primary functions are to defend the national sovereignty of the Empire, to protect citizens from foreign harm, to provide assistance to the Empire's allies, and to execute the martial will of the Emperor. The Armed Forces are composed of the following branches:
- The Imperial Army of Daehanjeiguk (ko.: 대한제국 육군; zh.: 大韓帝國陸軍)
- The Imperial Navy of Daehanjeiguk (ko.: 대한제국 해군; zh.: 大韓帝國海軍)
- The Imperial Marines of Daehanjeiguk (ko.: 대한제국 해병대; zh.: 大韓帝國海兵隊)
- The Imperial Air Force of Daehanjeiguk (ko.: 대한제국 공군; zh.: 大韓帝國空軍)
In addition, the Armed Forces include auxiliary forces, called the Imperial Civil Defense Corps (대한제국 민방위대; 大韓帝國民防衛隊), which is considered an auxiliary force or a militia. As part of the civic duty of citizens, all citizens are required by law to devote at least 2 years to service in the defense of the Empire. While conscription has not been officially used for the past 200 years, most citizens opt to serve this requirement in the armed forces, although a small number opt to engage in other defense-related activities. Regardless, of those that elect to join the services, the average citizen serves approximately 7 years in the armed forces, with a considerable number staying in the forces. Not unlike the civilian world, ranks are bestowed according to merit - academic, physical, and martial skills are frequently cited. Unlike the civilian hierarchy, however, commanders individually grade their subordinates, which permits rapid promotions within the ranks.
At the moment, the Armed Forces of the Han Empire boast a total combined personnel strength of ___###___ (_#_ combatant; _#_ non-combatant).
